About the maker

Merve Yamak crochets every bag by hand in her Istanbul studio — stitch by stitch, one at a time. After 17 years in advertising she turned the discipline she had built into something she could hold: a bag, made slowly, made to last. She wants to make things that are more personal, warmer, and more meaningful than what fills the shops.
The crossbody format leaves your hands free — compact enough to keep light, structured enough to hold its shape. These bags are crocheted in cotton yarn with an adjustable strap and a woven lining. Small bags, made one at a time. Each is a single piece — when it sells, that colour combination is gone.
Care
How to wash your crochet crossbody bag.
Hand wash in cool water with a small amount of mild soap.
Reshape while damp — don't wring. Lay flat to dry. The cotton handles water fine; the woven lining prefers not to be soaked repeatedly.
No machine wash. No tumble dry. No ironing directly on the yarn.
